All our Cuban film posters are from editions hand-printed by ICAIC: Instituto Cubano de Artes Industrias Cinematografia in their Taller Seriagrafia (silkscreen workshop) in Havana. Distinguishable from cheap reproductions by their matt finish and highly evocative inky smell, these posters are becoming increasingly rare and collectable.
Poster for director Tomas Gutierrez Alea's LGBT drama, 'Fresa y Chocolate' (Strawberry and Chocolate). The film was released in 1999, set in 1970s Havana and unusually gained a US release. The poster was designed by Pedro Luis Donestevez.
